We stopped offering live insurance quotes online because they often led to client frustration. Online systems can't fully account for your health history to provide an accurate quote, resulting in many liking a quote they ultimately didn't qualify for.
The only exception might be someone with no health issues or medications, who knows their lab results in advance. Unlike Health or Auto Insurance, where online data quickly leads to accurate quotes, Life Insurance requires a detailed discussion. This conversation helps understand how different Life Insurance Companies view various health conditions, ensuring you get an accurate quote.
The Coverage Scale - Your Life Insurance rating isn't just about negotiation. Thanks to technology, Insurance Companies have extensive access to your health details, including doctor's notes, lab results from insurance exams, prescription history, and your MIB report. With this data from millions over years, they accurately identify higher-risk health factors. They use this information to evaluate your risk and set your insurance price. Sometimes, an underwriter might overlook something, making your quote too high. That's where TermLifeProvider steps in to ensure your health profile is accurately represented. Insurance companies have unique rating guides and view health profiles differently, specializing in areas like weight, diabetes, sleep apnea, or anxiety, tailoring their offerings to various needs.
After reviewing your profile, the underwriter assigns you a spot on what we term the "Ratings Ladder," featuring 12 levels where level 1 is the most affordable and level 12 the priciest. Each age and gender has its specific ladder, with everyone initially placed at level 4, known as the Standard Rate. Based on your health details, you may move up or down this ladder; for instance, a diabetic might initially be placed at level 6, but improvements in health could shift them back to levels 3 or 4. Our role at TermLifeProvider is to ensure the underwriter recognizes every positive in your health profile, aiming for the lowest possible level for you.
Below are the common names for these ladder levels.
Clients on few medications and without major health history. Only 2% qualify for this rate.
Exclusively for clients on few medications with only mild health issues like Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, and similar minor conditions. Only 5% of clients qualify for this rate.
This rate category accommodates those slightly overweight or on medication for conditions like depression, sleep apnea, well-managed diabetes, and some cancers. Roughly 13% of applicants qualify for this rate.
Typically, this rate class is the most favorable for individuals who are 20-30 lbs overweight, have diabetes, a history of cancer, or heart issues. Around 30% of applicants fit into this category.
Half of the clients who get approved end up in one of the 8 table ratings, where each level means a 25% hike from the standard rate. So, if the usual premium is $1000 annually, being in Table 2 means paying $1500, which is 50% extra. This setup targets those with conditions like poorly managed diabetes, various heart issues, long-term use of narcotic pain meds, and other complex health situations. For an exact quote, it's best to discuss your specific health scenarios with your agent.
